Perfect for use in bathroom stalls and shower compartments where grab bars are needed to cover a space that is 16 inches in width by 31 inches in depth, the Bobrick B-6861.99 Grab Bar is designed especially to comply with barrier-free accessibility guidelines, including ADA in the U.S. The double grab bar unit features 18-gauge, type-304 stainless steel tubing of 1-1/2 inches in diameter in its design. A satin peened surface finishes off the bars. Not only is this finish attractive and resistant to fingerprinting, but it also allows for a tighter grip than a standard satin finish to reduce the likelihood of accidents. Mounting the grab bar unit is accomplished with three mounting flanges, each of which is made of a stainless steel plate that is 1/8 of an inch in thickness. The mounting hardware in the flanges is kept out of sight by snap-on flange covers crafted from 22-gauge stainless steel.
