If you're installing grab bars in your commercial washroom facility, opening and reconstructing the walls is often an expensive, time-consuming task. The Bobrick B-251-4 WingIt Stainless Steel Grab Bar Fastener was designed to work with Bobrick grab bars, so that you can mount them without the backing, eliminating the need to make any changes to the walls. Crafted from corrosion-resistant stainless steel, the fastener can be used with painted or tiled drywall that is at least 5/8 of an inch thick. The walls with which the fastener is used must also be 2-1/2 inches to 3-1/2 inches thick. To use the fastener, one piece must be purchased for each flange on the grab bar. Once properly installed, the fastener will allow the bar to hold up to 300 pounds of weight, which exceeds the guidelines required in ADA and other barrier-free accessibility guidelines and building codes.
