To allow for the tightest grip possible and help reduce the risk of accidents, the Bobrick B-6806.99x48 Concealed Mounting with Snap Flange Grab Bar comes with a peened gripping surface. At 42 inches in length, the model is the longest grab bar available that is 1-1/2 inches in diameter and features the peened gripping surface. The bar is fabricated out of 18-gauge, type-304 stainless steel and is designed to bear up to 900 pounds of weight with proper installation and 1-1/2 inches of clearance from the wall or stall partition. Other clearances allow the bar to withstand up to 250 pounds of weight. Installation of the grab bar is performed with the help of two stainless steel mounting flanges, one of which is positioned at either end of the bar. After the bar is attached to the mounting surface, 22-gauge, stainless steel covers snap onto the mounting plates to prevent tampering.
