The Bobrick B-5837.99 Grab Bar is intended for installation in two-wall tubs, showers and bathroom stall compartments. Built to support up to 900 pounds of weight when installed with 1-1/2 inches of clearance space from the wall or up to 250 pounds of weight when installed with more or less clearance, the grab bar unit allows you to fully comply with ADA and other barrier-free accessibility guidelines. The grab bars in the model are made of type-304, 18-gauge stainless steel tubing that is 1-1/4 inches in diameter. A peened grip satin finish is featured in the model. This not only cuts down on the amount of fingerprints that show up on the bar's surface, but also makes the grab bars easier to hold onto. The grab bar unit attaches to the wall with mounting flanges, which are heliarc welded to the individual bars in the model. Snap-on covers made of 22-gauge stainless steel conceal the mounting screws.
